This mammoth of a strain came out in 2003, bred by Ken Estes. GDP is an indica cross between Purple Urkle and Big Bud. It’s been a staple of California dispensaries ever since.

Not only does it have a purple colour, it’s got a fantastic grape and berry aroma from the Purple Urkle, with the huge, packed nug structure of its buds that comes from the Big Bud.

In effect, it’s a classic indica. Heady highs and intense physical relation, don’t be surprised to find yourself locked to one spot for an hour or two after smoking. Its best used medicinally to treat pain, stress and insomnia. It yields a massive harvest and a short 60 day flowering time, making it a favourite of commercial growers.

Complaints: GDP is going to give you a dry mouth, almost guaranteed.

Flavours: Berry, Grape and an almost honey like sweetness
