Using marijuana for that extra competitive edge might well be the next line in the ever encroaching world of using cannabis to help people in their every day lives.
NBA star Clifford Robinson has designed a line of marijuana products specifically for athletes, after being outspoken in his beliefs that marijuana can be helpful for those athletes that are regularly dealing with pain and injuries.
So he started ‘Uncle Spliffy’:
“Uncle Spliffy is the premier, first to market, Sports Cannabis brand in the world,” according to their website.
The website doesn’t provide too much on what Sports Cannabis is actually about, but Robinson has been giving hints over the years.
Back in January, Robinson said that cannabis could play a huge role in the lives of athletes.
“I think I’ve always been an advocate for cannabis,” he said.
“Cannabis is definitely a more positive alternative to pharmaceuticals at the end of the day.”
“When you talk about guys playing on a professional level, there’s a lot of physical and mental stress that comes with that. And to have something available to you that has health benefits, I don’t see the issue with it myself.”
Unfortunately, for the moment, almost every major sport’s league currently bans the use of marijuana by its athletes.
