Police in Northern California have seized almost 7,000 cannabis plants and a handgun from connected properties in Clearlake, California.

Clearlake police say they found 2,300 plants inside and outside the main house on Monday. The officers also said they found tunnels between several grow rooms, drying cannabis plants, illegal electric connections and mould.

Police say they tagged the main residence because of unsafe conditions.

Clearlake police arrested a 37-year-old man who was the only person on site Monday, but they believe others are involved. He was jailed for charges related to growing marijuana and carrying a firearm. The only prior convictions he has were connected to marijuana.
